When 63-year-old vocal coach and writer Adaline Bates stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage, the judges expected a classic, heartfelt performance. Adaline explained that after singing with her sister in a group during her teenage years, she lost her confidence to perform solo. She put her dreams on hold for decades to raise her children—and now, at 63, she was finally taking center stage for her own “me time.”

However, just as she was supposed to begin her song, Adaline suddenly stopped the judges and announced she had to step offstage to “get ready.” What she returned with left Simon Cowell, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union, and Howie Mandel staring in complete disbelief!
